Retail price: $400

PROS - This is a very nice looking bike. My model is a solid shiny black with aggressive styling and tires. The overall weight of this bike is extremely light. I am unsure about the exact weight but its somewhere around 20-25 pounds! The handle bars are straight with no curves which allow for great control for uneven terrain. This bicycle was also one of the first GT’s to incorporate the triple triangle frame design. It makes for an extremely rigid frame. This bicycle also shifts very smoothly, (Even when going uphill!), Thanks to the very nice stock shifters.
CONS – The front shocks bottom out on hard landings and are not as “tough” as I would like. For the price of the bike, I would have liked higher quality breaks and sprockets. The front sprocket on my model bent after some rigorous use. This is the only bicycle that I own that this has happened. Other than that, this bicycle is great.
Verdict – This bicycle is a little on the pricy side for a mountain bike. For $400, I would have liked better quality components. But for the extremely strong frame, and great control thanks to the superb styling, I think this bicycle was worth it.
